Übersicht der bisherigen "Lebens-Stationen" und dem aktuellen Forschungsinteresse
Ich habe von 1996 bis 2001 Wirtschaftsinformatik an der Universität Mannheim mit dem Schwerpunkt Informationssysteme studiert. Bereits vor und während des Studiums war ich als Anwendungsentwickler bei der IAS GmbH tätig und konnte dort früh praktische Erfahrungen in der Entwicklung digitaler Lösungen sammeln.
Von 2001 bis 2004 promovierte ich am Lehrstuhl Personal der Universität Mannheim. Im Mittelpunkt meiner Promotion standen die Auswirkungen von Informationssystemen auf Personal- und Führungsarbeit — eine Fragestellung, die meine Arbeit bis heute prägt: Wie verändern digitale Systeme Organisationen, Arbeit und menschliche Zusammenarbeit?
Nach der Promotion war ich von 2004 bis 2010 als Consultant bei der Gesellschaft für Anwendungsberatung mbH tätig. Dort beschäftigte ich mich vor allem mit der Einführung und Nutzung digitaler Systeme in Unternehmen. Dabei wurde deutlich, dass erfolgreiche Digitalisierung nicht nur eine technische, sondern immer auch eine organisationale und menschliche Gestaltungsaufgabe ist.
Seit 2010 bin ich Professor für Wirtschaftsinformatik an der FHWS, heute THWS. In Lehre, Forschung und Transfer verbinde ich technische, organisationale und menschzentrierte Perspektiven auf Digitalisierung. Mein Forschungsprofil liegt an der Schnittstelle von Wirtschaftsinformatik, Human-Computer Interaction, Design und digitaler Transformation.
Im Fokus stehen mobile Enterprise-Anwendungen, Augmented und Virtual Reality, Telepräsenz, Avatare, Social Media und Künstliche Intelligenz. Diese Themen betrachte ich nicht nur aus technischer Perspektive, sondern auch im Hinblick auf Akzeptanz, Nutzungserleben, Motivation, Wahrnehmung, soziale Präsenz und organisationalen Mehrwert. Besonders interessiert mich dabei, wie Interaktionen, Interfaces und digitale Nutzungserlebnisse gestaltet sein müssen, damit Technologien in realen Kontexten sinnvoll, akzeptiert und wirksam eingesetzt werden können.
