Visit from Tashkent University of Information Technology (TUIT) in Uzbekistan
Ms. Nishanova is a German teacher at TUIT and visited THWS to learn about the type of language training practised here. Eva Scholtyssek from the THWS Campus for Language Proficiency provided insights and exchanged ideas with Ms. Nishanova.
This was Ms. Nishanova's first visit to Germany, and she was delighted with the hospitality and winter impressions in Würzburg. Participation in the faculty's Christmas party rounded off the supporting programme for Ms. Nishanova.
Background to the visit
A cooperation agreement between TUIT and THWS has been in place since mid-2025, after Prof. Dr. Peter Braun had laid the groundwork for this in advance.
Uzbekistan is an emerging country in Central Asia with a young population and a strong focus on technological progress and digitalisation. The capital, Tashkent, is considered the academic centre of the country and is home to numerous universities with an international orientation – including TUIT, which is one of the country's leading technical universities.
With this visit, THWS is sending another signal for the internationalisation of its study programmes and the expansion of global partnerships.
A gradual expansion of cooperation between TUIT and THWS is planned for the coming years. Reciprocal visits, the start of supportive German language training, excursions and even the development of joint study paths and theses are on the agenda. The long-term goal is a double degree agreement between the two universities.
