The elective module (FWPM) "Software Industries, Education, and Economy in India", internally also "India Gateway Program" in short, has been offered from 2009 in winter semester for students in the third semester from all degree programmes.

  • In a weekly seminar, presentations are offered in which students are informed about history, culture, politics and the IT industry in India.

  • In collaborative technical projects with students of the partner university Christ University in Bangalore, students get to know the methods of fellow students.

  • After the examination period, the group goes on a two-week field trip to Bangalore and Mysore. The technical projects are completed, and results are presented. Students visit companies (for example Infosys) and some sights in Bangalore and Mysore.

Each May or June, all students are invited to a information event for the next India Gateway Program and are informed on requirements, process and costs.
