Visiting the Sheffield Hallam University in England

| faculty
Last week, our project staff Franziska Meyer and Maike Antlitz visited our partner institution the Sheffield Hallam University in the UK, with whom they work closely in the project FHWS Praxis International.

Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) has been a close partner of the Faculty of Computer Science and Business Information Systems (FIW) for many years. There has already been a lively exchange between the two universities in the past– lecturers from SHU are an integral part of the annual International Teaching Week at FHWS, lecturers from FIW have travelled to Sheffield and students from FIW spend semesters abroad at SHU. Most recently, the partnership resulted in the joint project FHWS Praxis International, which aims to motivate students from both universities to spend a placement semester abroad.

The objective of the visit was to further expand the cooperation, to discuss new collaboration opportunities and to get to know each other personally after almost two years of virtual collaboration within the project. In Sheffield, a broad and enjoyable itinerary was offered. Interesting discussions with colleagues from the Department of Computing, the College of Business, Technology and Engineering, to which the Department of Computing is affiliated, and the International Office as well as appointments outside of the meeting rooms were on the agenda.

In addition, the visit offered the opportunity to meet with an FIW student who is currently spending a semester abroad at SHU. He confirmed the excellent impression that Ms Meyer and Ms Antlitz had gained during their stay in Sheffield.
