Two new extra-occupational training courses for SMEs from Lower Franconia

Wed, 30 Oct 2019 | faculty

Starting in November, FHWS offers two new extra-occupational training courses on intelligent data analysis and artificial intelligence. The courses are free of charge.

New technologies and the ever increasing availability of data open up many opportunities and possibilities for companies. Many industries increasingly realise the added value intelligent data analysis and artificial intelligence can incur when the optimize their own processes, products and services. Nevertheless, many methods and models are still little known in the world of business.
By offering these courses to regional companies (preferably small and medium sized), FHWS wants to create an opportunity for them not only to learn about the two current hot topics “intelligent data analysis” and “artificial intelligence”, but also to create skills and competences as well as to network with other participants.

Both courses start with a kick-off event during which the planned contents will be presented and adjusted to the participants’ expectations. The first course modules will be available to participants presumably in January 2020 on FHWS’ own course platform.

With the course KI-trifft-KMU (AI meets SMEs), FHWS takes up the current demand of many small and medium-sized enterprises on the topic of artificial intelligence as well as illustrates the contents in small modularized units. By practice-oriented examples, the course participants will get to know current concepts and technologies of artificial intelligence and thus learn about the opportunities and potential, but also today’s limits of artificial intelligence.

The course Intelligente Datenanalyse für KMU (Intelligent data analysis for SMEs) takes place for the second time already. Here, participants will get to know methods and tools of modern data analysis. Together with FHWS lecturers, participants work through practice-oriented examples. This way, they get a guideline for the targeted analysis of company data. The first course already started last year and currently covers more in-depth areas of data analysis. Topics for the advanced modules have partly been created by the participants themselves.

Both courses are free of charge and offered in a blended learning approach. This means that contents are made available online and worked on independently of time. Individual face-to-face sessions at FHWS support the participants’ deepening of knowledge and are an opportunity to answer their questions.

In doing this, FHWS is promoted and supported by Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern (vhb) and the European Social Fund (esf). Both institutions support staff of small and medium-sized enterprises in training new and upgrading existing qualifications.
